Spring 2025 NWEA MAP Testing Results

Weekly Update from the Director - June 6, 2025
Dear GISC Families:

The Spring 2025 NWEA MAP testing results at GISC on average show that 85% of our 3rd through 8th grade students have achieved comprehensive scores (based on the Math, English Reading, and English Language Usage tests) in the average, high average, and high categories.

The distribution is as follows – the GISC "Curve" is heavily tilted toward high average and high achievement:
When comparing our all-time median Spring 8th grade student results to median Spring scores of all 8th grade students enrolled in U.S. private schools participating in the NWEA MAP testing, GISC students outperform private school benchmarks. Please see the following:
In 2024, GISC published a Strategic Plan, outlining recommended benchmark MAP results for GISC students; this year's Spring results show that on average our students have met the Strategic Plan's benchmark results.

We congratulate our students, and extend our appreciation to their teachers!

For a comprehensive look at MAP Testing at GISC, please see this presentation compiled by our Director of Teaching & Learning Frau Dr. Inka Kirchenbuechler.

With warm regards,

Ben Hebebrand
