  • Internship Opportunity in Elementary School

    We are looking to fill one additional internship position from February 26 - June 28, 2024.

    If you are a student from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland who is studying Elementary School Education and you are interested in gaining work experience in a team of highly motivated educational experts in the beautiful City of Chicago, please send your application to our Director of Teaching & Learning, Inka Kirchenbuechler, at ikirchenbuechler [at] germanschoolchicago.com.

Teaching Internship Program

GISC also welcomes teaching interns from abroad every year. Interns are able to act as an assistant teacher, providing help to students and leading lessons under the supervision of GISC faculty. Most interns choose to stay with GISC host families, building relationships in the home and bringing a dose of German culture and youth to our community.

Please note that we currently do not accept any applications other than for the above mentioned internship opportunity from February through June 2024.
