2022 Laternenfest & St. Martin's Parade

Thank you for joining us at our 2022 Laternenfest & St. Martin's Parade at GISC! We had a wonderful time celebrating this traditional event as a community for the first time since 2019. As snowflakes fell, we enjoyed warm drinks by the fire, freshly cooked waffles, grilled sausages, traditional lantern songs, the story of St. Martin (performed by some of our Middle School students), and a parade around the block. Thank you to the GPG and our parent volunteers for helping us plan, decorate, and prepare food and drinks!

We are also deeply grateful to the German Consulate General Chicago for sponsoring this event and for supporting GISC in our efforts to bring traditional German events to our Chicago community.
We're already looking forward to next year's event!
