2022 IB PYP Exhibition

On Wednesday, May 25, our 4th grade students – under the guidance of Frau Wick – presented various research projects on topics ranging from climate change and animal welfare to an increasing mental health crisis as a result of the pandemic.
Students prepared poster boards, websites, and speeches, inspiring students from other grade levels as well as their families who came to see these projects. Students also raised funds to support causes affiliated with their research projects. One group, The 3 Environmentalists, have already raised $225 for Team Seas, a global campaign that removes one pound of trash from our oceans, rivers, and beaches for every dollar donated. If you would like to contribute to The 3 Environmentalists’ campaign with Team Seas, please visit this link and click “join this team”!

“They learned with their brains and their hearts, and they undertook action. Students personified a core characteristic of the IB PYP by displaying a mature sense of what we call learner agency – they took charge of their own learning and they worked on creating a better world. They are well on their way of becoming lifelong learners with a sense of purpose,” said GISC Director Ben Hebebrand.

Congratulations to our students and to Frau Wick for working so hard on such impressive projects!
