Meet our Community at the Annual Gala!

Weekly Update from the Director – April 19, 2024
Dear GISC Community,

As we move into the month of May, we are getting ready to celebrate our school by hosting our annual Gala event. This year, our theme is An Evening at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. We are excited to invite you to an evening in another era to experience one of the most interesting historical occasions in Chicago’s history.

If you have never been to a GISC Gala, this is the year. We are celebrating our 15th anniversary school year and the City of Chicago. Please come dressed how you prefer – maybe you want to put together an 1890s period costume, or you are welcome to join us in modern formal wear/business attire. The volunteers of the Gala Committee have been busy preparing many details to commemorate 15 years of GISC as well as our favorite U.S. city.

During the evening, we will enjoy dinner, drinks, and dancing. We will also take time to honor our community – our Volunteer of the Year, our honored guests representing the DACH community, and of course, you! There will also be a variety of ways to support our special school, including a silent auction with prizes ranging from ballet and sports tickets to hotel stays, a live auction of student paintings prepared by each one of our classes, and an exciting paddle raise project you can help bring to life. Under the guidance of our Art Teacher, Frau Wawrzinek, our student artists have been hard at work to wow you with their creativity. (Also, read more below about how you can join our Parent Paint Night this year!)

All of us look forward to seeing you at our Gala on Saturday, May 11th!

All the best,
Ben
