The German School Chicago is a non-profit, pre-kindergarten
through grade 12 school that will provide a stimulating and
comprehensive education to students of all backgrounds and
nationalities. It is conceived as a language immersion day school
with a curriculum taught mainly in German.
Students will learn in a supportive, intimate and individualized
learning environment that nurtures curiosity and creativity and
fosters global awareness.
Preschool instruction is Montessori-based, developing the
notion of building life-long learners. Elementary school instruction
will be based on the IB Program. The rigorous academic curriculum of
the International Baccalaureate (IB) program enables students to
excel academically while being immersed in other cultures and
languages.
The German School Chicago prepares students to become
well-rounded, creative, responsible and tolerant global citizens,
prepared for the 21st Century.
Upon graduation, students will have earned a German International
Baccalaureate degree and will have taken part in all
qualifications and exams needed for an American High School Diploma.
These qualifications will prepare them for acceptance into European
and American colleges and universities.
The German School Chicago is joining the international
network of German foreign schools and pursuing all relevant
accreditations in order to ensure the highest standards of teaching
and learning.
